Written and directed by Tim Bryn Smith, Surrender to It is a British mystery/drama following a grieving father who reunites with his old actor friends for a mysterious weekend in the UK's “wild west”… only for chaos to unfold.
Blending mystery, drama, comedy, romance and adventure, the film became the most ambitious Screen School project undertaken by The Actors Workshop Nottingham — with the cast made up entirely of Workshop members.
What started as an opportunity for actors to put their screen training into practice ultimately became something much bigger: a feature film reaching audiences around the world.

Tim has spent decades working across film, television, theatre, commercials and voice-over, with acting credits including Teachers, Holby City, The Bill, Hollyoaks, Heartbeat, Doctors and Dream Team.
In 2010, he founded The Actors Workshop Nottingham & Online, which has since helped thousands of actors develop their craft — from complete beginners building confidence to performers pursuing professional careers.
Through its Screen School, actors can develop their skills in front of the camera while gaining practical experience of filmmaking, auditions, self-taping, showreels, set etiquette and the realities of working within the industry.
Surrender to It takes that philosophy to another level.
This isn't simply a conversation about making a movie.
It's about creating opportunities, championing Nottingham talent and proving that you don't need to wait for Hollywood to come knocking to make something special.
