Born and raised in Zimbabwe to a Zimbabwean mother and British father, Stacey Read discovered her passion for acting while performing in her senior-school drama club. She later moved to the UK to pursue acting professionally, training at the Performance Preparation Academy.
Stacey landed the role of Alicia Nevins in SYFY’s The Ark, a brilliant young member of Ark One’s crew whose intelligence, coding ability and problem-solving skills quickly make her an invaluable part of the mission.
Across the series, audiences have watched Alicia grow from a gifted but sometimes socially awkward young crew member into someone forced to deal with enormous responsibility, impossible decisions and the realities of survival in deep space.

Created by Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner, The Ark follows humanity’s fight for survival after Earth becomes increasingly uninhabitable and missions are launched into space in search of a new home.
Season 3 takes the story into exciting new territory following the establishment of Homebase 1. With the crew divided between building their new colony and continuing the mission through space, new dangers, challenges and unexpected visitors await.
