Ian appears as Shadow the Hedgehog, Created to be the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow is the rival and occasional begrudging ally of Sonic. Though he seems cold and mysterious and oftentimes is at odds with Sonic, his aims are noble.
For the past fourteen years Ian Hanlin has been steadily building an impressive body of work as a Voice Actor. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Ian has been a performer since an early age, rattling off cartoon and movie quotes much to the delight of his friends and the confusion of his parents.
After studying Drama at Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec, Ian performed with the Shakespeare By The Sea theatre company in Halifax before relocating to Vancouver. It was in Vancouver that Ian discovered voice acting and began appearing in various cartoons and video games before landing his first major role as Lance in LEGO Nexo Knights.
Ian has since established himself as one of Canada’s most in demand Voice Actors, and currently appears as Shadow and Big the Cat in Netflix's Sonic Prime, as well as Red & Neiderflyer in Angry Birds: Summer Madness.
